Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) Splitter is a type of optical power management device that is fabricated using silica optical waveguide technology to distribute optical signals from Central Office to multiple premise locations. With the features of small size, wide range of operating wavelength, stable reliability and good uniformity, It’s widely used in passive optical networks (EPON, BPON, GPON, etc.) connects the central office and the terminal device and implements the splitting of the optical signal.

In the optical network (EPON, BPON, GPON, etc.), the central office and the terminal device are connected and the optical signal is split. There are currently two types of 1xN and 2xN. 1xN and 2xN splitters evenly divide the optical signal into multiple outlets from a single or dual inlet, or work in reverse to direct multiple optical signals into a single or dual fiber.
